About Us
Precisa was founded in 1957 and has held a place of honor in the history of Italian metrology ever since. In the laboratories of Varallo Sesia, the first granite surface plate made in Italy was created. An idea born almost by chance, while leafing through the pages of an American specialized magazine that advertised granite plates, then unknown in Italy.
After months of work and research, Vincenzo Bertoli successfully completed the first Swedish black granite surface plate, AK F1.
By subjecting it to checks by the most rigorous Metrological Institutes, it emerged that the flatness was four times superior to the precision then obtainable with normal cast iron plates.
The important milestone achieved led him to found Precisa: the first Italian company specialized in granite control plates and tools.

This is a high-intensity, uniform BLUE spotting paste, ideal for surface inspection and locating high spots during scraping operations or checking contact points between parts to achieve assembly precision (molds, bearings, valves, gears, and other components with tight tolerances). It is used by bringing the reference surface (after the PRECISA® SPOTTING PASTE has been applied) into contact with the surface being checked; the colored areas highlight the spots that need to be scraped.
